Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her first appearances on Broadway include in the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who produced Hamilton directed the production. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over 100 Years. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major part. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded the Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been born in Denver and now lives in Los Angeles and New York.
